I’ve been experimenting with porcelain, pushing the material’s limits through hand-building techniques. It’s a lengthy process compared to wheel-throwing. The forms emerge naturally as I incorporate elements from nature to create semi-functional and sculptural pieces that evoke environmental themes, such as flora and fauna.

For this project, I primarily use celadon, a translucent and traditionally pale green, iron-based glaze that accentuates carved or textured surfaces. The pieces are fired to Cone 10 in a reduction atmosphere to achieve their characteristic jade-green hue.
